Mt Atkinson Outlet Sewer Portion A & B - Truganina, Victoria
The Mt Akinson Outlet Sewer is a critical capital works project for Greater Western Water running approximately 4km mostly parallel to Hopkins / Derrimut Rd, Truganina. Pipe used was predominantly DN750, 675 and 650 GRP which was installed by open cut with some trenchless crossings under existing assets and roads.
Some of the main challenges faced on this project included:
- Multiple crossings of APA high pressure gas transmission pipelines
- Crossing under a high risk Melbourne Water DN1200 water main
- Crossing under overhead high voltage transmission tower lines
- Working adjacent to environmentally sensitive areas which required no disturbance
- Removal and reinstatement of sections of heritage dry stone walls
